Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery

Residency

The Division of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery is accredited for a three-year residency training program to educate and train future dermatologists. Currently, two highly qualified applicants are selected for the first year position, based on scholarly and academic attributes.

The program is designed to provide the residents, during their three year stay at UTHSCSA and affiliated institutions, with comprehensive and quality training in varied aspects of dermatology. The areas covered include clinical dermatology, cutaneous surgery (including Mohs micrographic surgery), dermatopathology, clinical pharmacology, cutaneous immunology, oncology, pediatric dermatology and cutaneous biology. The residents are encouraged to participate in Departmental research activities concentrating on molecular and cellular biology as they relate to skin disorders.

Applications to the Dermatology Residency Program are accepted via ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). For more information about the Residency Program, contact Derm@UTHSCSA.edu. It would be appreciated that telephone calls for information not be made.
